自動上料攪拌車是一種結合了混凝土運輸車和混凝土攪拌站功能為一體，集混凝土裝料、計量、攪拌、出料于一身，并可實現混凝土運輸和現場混凝土施工作業的攪拌設備，該設備快捷，大大的提高了生產效率，降低了生產時間和成本自動上料攪拌罐適用于各種特殊環境、擁擠市區及偏遠地區的混凝土工程施工。

普通的攪拌車用來運送建筑用混凝土的專用卡車；由于它的外形，也常被稱為田螺車。這類卡車上都裝置圓筒型的攪拌筒以運載混合后的混凝土。

自動上料攪拌車所裝運的混凝土含水量來分，有濕料式、干料式和半干料式三種攪拌運輸。國內大多采用濕料式的，它可裝運由攪拌廠（站）生產的混凝土或按配比混合的骨料（砂、石子）、水泥和水，在運輸過程中，不斷對濕料慢慢攪拌，防止混凝土在運輸過程中初凝和離析。但是，混凝土從生產到澆注的時間一般不能超過1.5h,以免混凝土凝結。所以，在更遠距離運輸的情況下，需采用干料和半干料攪拌運輸車來運送。
